Who Needs Rubber Duckies?

Most people would say 11 pets are enough...but we Scrivers say pshah! Thats right, our farm is growing ever more. Just last week our little chloe gave birth to 11 bunnies. Unfortunately two didn't make it, but the 9 others are alive and kick'n. They're pretty cute, even the ugly ones you just can't help but love. We have this white one, it has a tiny head, huge tummy, long legs, big feet and ears twice the size of its head! It makes for quite the picture. We call her little haylie.

But thats not all...Pew Pew, our female duck successfully hatched 12 eggs yesterday! Watch yourself though, she's a real beast! Just this morning me (Crystal) and mom got chased by the overly protective mama and mom was forced to hose her. OH! and just for the record, dad is the biggest softy ever! Just last night dad dug a hole to put the water dish in, that way the babies could get in and swim and not have a problem getting out, and then there are multiple duck ramps. Dad's pretty cute when it comes to his own personal nursery. He's spent many hours bottle feeding the bunny runts...which we're not entirely sure are bunnies. One looks like a kitten and the other looks like a chipmonk.

So to say the least we've had a very busy week here at the Scriver farm, and we can't wait to show off the new arrivals to any nieces/grandkids that might wander our way...hint hint Brittney, hint hint

See? Tyler's not above begging...

More Fun Father's Day Pics

Mike, Crystal and Ashtyn.

Happy Father's Day Mike!

Today was alot of fun. It started with Crystal and I making Mike breakfast in bed. We made strawberry, blueberry and raspberry crepes, hashbrowns, and turkey bacon. Unfortunately breakfast is not our forte. The crepes turned out interesting, the hasbrowns mushy and the bacon was like jerky. Mike seemed to enjoy it however. Later on Eric, Brittney, and Ashtyn came over for dinner. Dinner turned out much better. We had a choice of steak or chicken, macaroni salad, pasta salad, couscou, corn on the cob, fresh green beans, dutch oven potatoes, rolls, and watermelon for dessert. Everyone was STUFFED! Mike received a annual state park pass and a t-shirt which was perfect for him. It says "Grandpa's to do list-1) fill grandkids up with sugar, 2) Send home". We missed Dave, Brittney, Emma and Juice, but it turned out to be a super fun day anyway.

Tyler's Graduation!

SO it has been a while since I have updated. Unfortunately I ended up with some nasty sore throat thing and was pretty sure I was dieing. As you can see I didn't even though at some points I wished I would. Anyway...Thursday was Ty's graduation ceremony for his is Medical Assistant program from BATC. Along with a cover for his certificate which he received some months ago he received his award for being Student of the Month for the month of Dec. 2006. If you look real hard you can see the award. It is a really nice "plaque". He is now working on his EMT. He attends class Tues., Wed., and Thurs. from 5pm-10pm. after working all day at Western Plasma. We are all so proud of him. Crystal made him his favorite dinner...lasagna and invited a few of his friends over to the house to celebrate. As he had to go to his EMT class following the ceremony celebrating went quite late! Mike and I are so blessed to have such amazing children. We are so proud of all of them! Good job Ty!

Crystal's Ever Changing Hair!

Well folks, Crystal has done it again! Crystal decided she wanted to be "brighter " for summer so we bleached her hair yesterday. For those who didn't see her before her hair was almost black. Usually Crystal's hair fades so we weren't too worried when it first came out dark. However, the dark color we used must have been part glue because no fading occurred.

While Crystal is always beautiful... the dark color is not my favorite nor hers. She tried valently to rid herself of it but to no avail. We tried foiling in a lighter color of brown...no change. We tried two different shades of blonde...again...no change. Finally came the bleach. As you can see the bleach made a big difference.

A Sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's!

Our Memorial weekend was not too exciting. Everyone worked except Ty and he spent the day vegging after his hectic last week. We did have fun when Eric and Brittney called and asked us to babysit Ashtyn overnight Sunday. WE love having our girls stay over. Ashtyn is growing like a weed. She is now about 7 and a half months old and 16 lbs. She is sporting a new bottom tooth...her first. She also has learned to pull herself up into a standing position. Grandma's Germany houses which sit on the table in the living room will probably not be there much longer as they will need to be moved. Anyway, Ashtyn came over about 8:18 Sunday night. She had a yummy dinner of baby food squash and applesauce. Then Grandma put her in her carebear pj's. Ashtyn loves playing with her grandpa just like Emma. Ashtyn reminds us of a little teapot. She just gets so filled with excitement she just shakes with it then when the excitment gets to be too much she squeals. Grandpa has nicknamed her "Bell" short for decibelle. Ashtyn loves to yell and she does it very well. If she wasn't so cute doing it we might not appreciate it so much but she is absolutely adorable. She finally went down at 10:45pm. Grandma thought she was down for the night. No such luck. She was up at 3am for a bottle and then at 6:30am for good. Grandma had forgotten how tiring getting up in the night with little ones was. Still we wouldn't change having Ashtyn stay over for anything. Monday morning Ashtyn helped Grandma make sure all of the tiny bunnies were still in their house. The new batches are about two weeks old, they have their eyes open and they like to wander out the door of their houses. Ashtyn had a great time playing with the fuzzy balls of fur before putting them back to bed. (on a side note we sold our first bath of seven bunnies so we are now down to only 16 rabbits). Eric and Brittney came to pick her up at about 9:15 after which grandma took a nap. I sure love my grandbabies and can hardly wait for our new one due in Sept. Dave and Brit have decided on Alli for our new granddaughter's name. Being a grandma is the best thing ever.

The First Days of Summer...

Where to begin???? First let me start with last Saturday. Dave, Brit and Emma came to Cache Valley for a visit. Dave and Mike went for an awesome bike ride up around Porcupine Reservoir. They had a blast. Dave and Mike both were walking alittle slower when they returned home, but they assured us they had a good time. After the guys were done doing their thing, we all (Mike, I, Crystal, Tyler, Dave, Brit and Emma) loaded up and headed to Willow Park for some fun fishing in this cute little pond they have for kids 14 and under. Even though Em was skunked she didn't seem to care. She had fun just hanging with her mampa and the rest of us. Following the fishing we took a walk through the park and saw all kinds of birds and turtles. Emma loved the turtles. It continually amazes me how smart Emma is. We all had a blast. Then yesterday Mike and I, Brandon and Crystal, Mathew, Dave, Brit and Emma went to the Aquarium in Sandy! It was great. Crystal admitted she was afraid the aquarium was going to be lame but she ended up being pleasently surprised. Mathew loved the touch pool and the sharks. I think Em's favorite was the sharks as well. She would stand next to glass and make growling noises when the sharks swam by. Great Grandma Scriver and a few of the cousins made a short appearance and then had to take off for swimming lessons. WHen things started to wined down I mentions food to Emma and she was off. She was literally shooing her parents out the door so she could "eat eat" "pizza, pizza". She ran out the doors headed to the car but not before giving the touch pool a hug and kiss and telling the sharks "bye bye". From there we headed to Chucky Cheese. We had a blast! Emma loved the carousel! I think she rode it at least 10 times! We were all exhausted but a good time was definately had by all. While we missed Eric, Brittney, Ashtyn, and Tyler, it was a blast spending the day with family. I love them all so much!
